After being ruthlessly returned by the Lakers, the Hornets inside star will be put on the shelves again this summer?

According to NBA reporter Jake Weinbach, inside star Mark Williams, currently playing for the Charlotte Hornets, is expected to be on the trading market again this summer. In February this year, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, but the deal was eventually cancelled because Williams failed the Lakers' physical examination. Weinbach said Williams' rookie contract expires one year left and he will be eligible for an early renewal with the team this summer, but he does not seem to be in the Hornets' future plans.

Weinbach also wrote that including the Milwaukee Bucks, the Chicago Bulls, the Boston Celtics, the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors should all be seen as potential suitors for Williams. Apart from the Celtics, the remaining teams are short of people in the interior position. The Bucks, Bulls and Raptors may lose their starting center this summer. They also need to introduce younger inside players to enhance the team's overall competitiveness. The Warriors' inside strength is seriously insufficient, which is fully reflected in the series against the Minnesota Timberwolves this season's playoffs. As for the Celtics, they also face the situation where Al Horford is older and may even choose to retire in the interior. Coupled with Kristaps Porzingis's performance during the playoffs, they also have reasons to improve the team's inside competitiveness.

In the NBA regular season this season, Williams played 44 games in total due to injury, averaging 26.6 minutes per game, with averaging 15.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.2 blocks, including 3 frontcourt rebounds, 1.6 turnovers and 2.4 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 60.4%, a three-point shooting percentage of 0%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 80.4%. Williams' performance on the court is actually pretty good. He has excellent scoring and finishing skills at the basket, and he also has certain passing ability and support skills. He can create huge threats to his opponents on the offensive end, and he is also quite distinctive in rebound protection. Of course, Williams' performance on the defensive end is relatively average, and his defensive ability is also a certain gap compared to his offensive ability.

Williams' biggest problem is of course not his ability but his physical condition. He couldn't join the Lakers because of his physical examination. After entering the NBA, he only made 106 appearances in these three seasons. He has not played more than 44 games in a season. This season is even the season with the most appearances, which is enough to show how bad his attendance rate is. Williams' physical condition is obviously not enough to support him appearing on the court in every game, and it seems that the situation has not improved any time after entering the NBA. Then the question arises. Since his physical condition is so bad and his contract is about to expire in just one season, will Williams really attract the interest and attention of these teams?
