Da Fan: If Bronny gets rid of his gimmick and plays well, James may extend his career

2:31am, 13 October 2025Basketball

On October 12, former NBA coach Stan Van Gundy talked about LeBron James’ long career in an interview.

"When I was still coaching, I wanted him to retire every year. I felt he should have retired seven or eight years ago (laughing). But now as a commentator, my perspective is different. Regarding LeBron, I think he will consider four aspects in the future. The first is his love for basketball - does he still enjoy the daily life of the NBA? If he does not want to continue, he does not need to fight anymore. His career is already a model in league history, unprecedented." Van Gundy said.

"The second is whether he still maintains a competitive level that he is satisfied with. Obviously he has maintained a high level so far and is expected to continue, but LeBron has strict standards for on-court performance. Can he still meet his own requirements? The other two factors are beyond his control: First, he Do you agree with the development direction of the Lakers as a championship team? Secondly, Bronny's progress - when Bronny gets rid of the "rookie gimmick" and gets stable playing time, and even enters the rotation, this basketball story of father and son on the same stage may become an opportunity to extend his career."
