Dream Chasing - Green: Whether Kumingga stays with the Warriors or not, he will have a very bright future

Golden State Warriors' inside star Draymond Green talked about his teammate Jonathan Kuminga in his podcast. Green also mentioned the various decisions that Kumingga might make this summer.

Green said: We all know Kumingga's talent, and we all know what he can do. Now we need to wait for him to make a financial decision, but I especially like the words he said in the interview, like listening, next we just need to sit down and find a solution to the problem, etc. Green continued: I especially like to say to him and the coach, hey, please tell me how to do this kind of similar thing. In my opinion, this is his approach to being responsible for himself and being brave enough to take responsibility. Many people usually say that I can do this and that when they encounter this situation, but you don’t give it a chance. This is human nature. But his reaction was not like this, so I especially like his response and how he handles these things. So, in my opinion, one thing is certain, whether he ends up staying with the Warriors or going to another team, he will win a big contract for himself, and I am very firmly convinced that no matter where he is, he will have a very bright future.

In the NBA regular season this season, Kumingga only got 47 opportunities in total due to injuries in 82 games, averaging 24.3 minutes per game, averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks, and 1.5 turnovers and 1.9 fouls, shooting percentage of 45.4%, three-point shooting percentage of 30.5%, and free throw shooting percentage of 66.8%. In the playoffs, Kumingga only got 8 play opportunities in 12 games due to tactical arrangements. His average playing time reached 23.4 minutes, with an average of 15.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks. He also had 1.6 turnovers and 1.6 fouls. His shooting percentage was 48.4%, a three-point shooting percentage of 40%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 71%.

Although Kuminga's performance has been unstable throughout the season, she was once struggling at the end of the regular season. But in the second round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves, when Stephen Curry was absent due to injury, Kumingga became the team's most reliable scorer, and in several consecutive games, he proved his strength and value. With Kumingga's performance in these games, we also have every reason to think that he will get a generous contract this summer. For Kumingga himself, considering the almost suppressive way of employing people in Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, perhaps leaving the Warriors is the ideal choice.
