In his career journey of spanning 15 seasons and traveling to five teams, Byron Davis used his amazing performances to make the team rush to "snatch people".

Back on the 1999 draft night, the 20-year-old California defender sat in a hotel room and was helpless when he was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the third pick in the first round - he even refused to try out and called the management with his agent, "I don't want to go to Charlotte." The Hornets responded coldly: "You can't come, but we'll choose you." A four-year rookie contract with a total price of $12.69 million was on standby, and Davis finally embarked on a trip to South Carolina. In his rookie season, he played in 82 substitutes, averaging 5.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Although the data is mediocre, under the leadership of Eddie Jones, the Hornets made the playoffs in the fifth place in the East. The following year, Davis made the starter, averaging 13.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 2.1 grabs. He swept the Heat 3-0 in the first round, and narrowly defeated the Bucks 4-3 in the second round, making a stunning success.

The real explosion came from the third season: he averaged 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game, and was selected for the All-Star for the first time. In the first round of this year, he scored 33 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in his career in G3; G4 scored another 28+11+10, leading the team to eliminate his opponent 4-1. Although he lost to the Nets 1-4 in the subsequent second round, the Hornets have a broad prospect. So in the offseason in 2002, the team locked him in advance: renewed his contract with a maximum salary of US$86.3 million in 6 years, defending the future of this popular all-round defender.

Byron Davis's career path has begun since then, with five teams and a 15-year journey. Every time the next company pays a heavy price for his organizational ability and empty-cut aggressiveness - this is a basketball legend about data, contracts and team bets.
