05/30 Oklahoma City Center will usher in a brand new sports-themed entertainment district, led by Echo Investments, Russell Westbrook Enterprises and Robinson Park Real Estate, at a cost of $2 billion.
The project takes the MAPS4 Multipurpose Stadium as the core and transforms a 50-acre piece of land near the Oklahoma River into a pedestrian hub integrating sports, retail, catering and community activities.
Echo Investment Company has selected Populous, a world-renowned design company, as its master planning architect. Populous is known for designing major projects such as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and KaiTak Sports Park. The company is not only responsible for designing the MAPS4 multi-function stadium, but will also assist in planning the layout of the entire area.
Former Thunder star, RWE founder and fashion icon Westbrook will serve as creative director. With his global perspective and deep friendship with Oklahoma City, he will help create a space that fully embodies the city’s vitality, culture and community spirit.
