NBA Kings refuse to renew their contract with star LaVine in advance

6:32pm, 29 June 2025Basketball

According to the exposure of the US media on June 27: The NBA Kings have no plans to complete the contract renewal with defender star Zach Laven in advance during the offseason. His contract has two years left. Among them, the 2026-2027 season is Laven’s player option.

31-year-old Zach Lavender plays as a shooting guard and plays for the Kings in the 2024-2025 season. He plays in a total of 74 games in the regular season, averages 35.3 minutes per game, and can score 23.3 points + 4.3 rebounds + 4.2 assists + 0.8 steals + 0.2 blocks. He has a shooting percentage of 51.0%, a three-point shooting percentage of 45.0%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 83.0%. Lavin is a defender with strong offense and weak defense. Neither in the Bulls nor the Kings, he has shown enough ability to lead core stars. This is his most lacking leadership temperament.

The Kings were very disappointed with the record of only 40 wins and 42 losses in the regular season of the 2024-2025 season. They were only ranked 9th in the Western Conference and eventually missed the playoffs. The Kings management is actively promoting the upgraded lineup trading during the offseason. They have now pushed defenders Monk, Devin Carter and others into the trading market, hoping to exchange for more combat-ready players. Keegan Murray and Ellis are considered by the team to be trusted forces on the defensive end, and neither of them will be traded.
