Hupu News on October 29 Recently, Phil Jackson talked about his story with the Knicks in his book called "Mastersoft the Game":

Jackson wrote that before he and Knicks owner James Dolan "mutually agreed to break up" in 2017, the two had a key conversation.

"Dolan asked me, 'Are you going to be tortured by the media?'

I said, 'I know what's going on with them, and it doesn't affect me.'

But Dolan felt it was too much pressure, and he said, 'I don't want you to be tortured by them. I know how to deal with these people. '

I told him, 'Unfortunately, my relationship with Anthony has broken down. If he is still here, maybe it is the best choice for me to leave.'"

The contradiction between Jackson and Anthony has existed for a long time, and the core lies in tactical concepts. He wanted to implement the "triangle offense" and teamwork, but Anthony never accepted this system.

"Hornacek (then coach) told me, 'Carmelo just wants the ball.'" Jackson wrote.

"When Dolan and I had a meeting, we said, 'I don't want Carmelo to come back to the team, we have to find a way to trade him.'

I also said, 'Let's sit down and talk to his agent, Leon Rose - we can't win a championship, and Anthony wants a championship, and he should go where there is a chance. He is a Hall of Fame player.'"
