The Knicks are not the first case when they are blatantly poaching people!

3:04pm, 12 June 2025Basketball

On June 11, according to NBA famous reporter Shams, the Knicks have publicly interviewed their active head coaches with the Timberwolves, Rockets and Mavericks, but they were decisively rejected.

Boldly poaching competitor employees, this phenomenon can only happen in the NBA.

The Knicks's vision of picking people is quite fierce, and they only choose the head coaches who have successfully tested the other teams.

For example, Finch, who helped the Timberwolves break into the Western Conference Finals, trained the Rockets to enter the second place in the Western Conference this season, and helped the Mavericks reach the finals last season.

But, how could the management easily let go of such a core backbone? After all, it is difficult to choose a suitable head coach at the moment, and it is easy to lose money.

For example, the Pistons fired Monty Williams, who had been 80 million in five years, and the Suns quit Bourdenholzer, who had been 40 million in four years. Both coaches have only been using them for one year, and these are cases where others have paid expensive tuition fees.

However, the Knicks' behavior of poaching the current head coach is supported by NBA rules. Lao Liu took stock of the cases of the team trading the current head coach, which has happened 4 times in NBA history!
