June 27th, according to reports, Bilbao recently asked the La Liga to investigate Barcelona's financial situation, and the club issued a statement to respond to this.
Bilbao Statement:
Athletic Club is focused on its own affairs: Meeting with La Liga Club
for its willingness to cooperate and clear attitude, which is committed to safeguarding the interests of all clubs. Under the framework of the Fiscal Fairness Act, the two sides discussed issues such as the player introduction ability of Barcelona Football Club.
Athletic Club hopes to express its gratitude to the Spanish Professional Football League (LaLiga) for its willingness to cooperate and clear attitude in the meeting between the two sides yesterday. The meeting was attended by the chairman of the two institutions - Javier Tebass and Horn Uriat.
The Madrid meeting was held in response to the requirements of the Athletic Club under the compliance framework of the Financial Fairness Act. The topics discussed include the player introduction ability of Barcelona Football Club, because the competitive club has the legal right to obtain relevant information - previously Barcelona sports director Deco publicly admitted that they will try to sign a player from our team's first team. The player's contract with the Athletic Club is valid until June 30, 2027. The club focuses on its own affairs, that is, ensure that the rules of the competition are followed.
Deco's statement is consistent with the public statement of Barcelona Club President Laporta. Laporta acknowledged that the club is "working to meet the 1:1 rule requirement", but it has not yet met the standards for registering players under the rule.
We thank La Liga for its professional response and its clear attitude in the whole process, and at the same time stated that the competitive club will resolutely defend its rights and interests until the last moment within the scope of financial fair regulations jointly formulated by all professional clubs in La Liga.
