According to the German media "Bild", Borussia Monchengladbach has launched negotiations with the 49-year-old sports director, hoping that he will return to the Bundesliga as the club's sports director.

Schroeder currently serves as the sports director at Red Bull Salzburg. He will take office at the end of 2024 and his contract will run until December 2028.
