According to the Times, Manchester United hopes to sign in Brentford's 25-year-old Cameroon winger Mbermo and send a offer to Brentford, hoping to complete the transfer for £60 million. However, Brentford rejected Manchester United's offer. It is reported that Brentford hopes that Mbermo's transfer fee will be equivalent to that of Cunnia's transfer fee (£62.5 million) for joining Manchester United, and hopes that Manchester United will reduce the proportion of installments and pay most of the transfer fees in one lump sum. In the 2024-25 season, Mbermo played 42 games for Brentford, contributing 20 goals and 8 assists.
