Manchester United believes that the existing midfield is sufficient to support and strengthening is not an urgent task

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United intends to introduce a midfielder this summer, but did not strengthen the area when the transfer window was finally closed. Many people are worried about whether this will come at a cost. According to internal club sources, midfielder has never been a priority as the team already has options that are considered powerful and versatile.

Bruno Fernandez, Casemiro, Ugat, Mount and Kobe Menu are existing options, and Amorin must rely on these resources to survive the early stages of the season. Toby Collier could have provided an additional midfield substitute, but Amorin decided the young player would not get enough playing time and allowed him to join West Brom on loan for one season.

Unless Manchester United reaches the FA Cup quarterfinal this season, they will face the fewest single-season games since the 1914/15 season. This stems from the failure to advance to the European Championship and the elimination of Greensby in the League Cup last week. Manchester United won't compete in the FA Cup until Christmas, so from now until January the transfer window opens, they only have to play in the Premier League.

Although club executives say the new midfielder was not introduced because the existing roster was strong enough, it looked more like a careful budget based on schedule and financial situation. Before the January transfer window, Manchester United had only 16 Premier League games. The senior management believed that Fernandez, Casemiro, Ugat, Mount and Menu were enough to support, so they chose to take a chance.

Club also believes that Segu Cone may enter the first team this season. Conne played for only one minute on the US Summer Tour, but the coaching staff believed he could contribute in the end. However, it is almost impossible for Conne to have an impact in the first half of the season. The young man has been on the brink of the first team and needs more training time to impress Amorin.

Last month, Cone started for U21 in the National League Cup against Tamworth, but suffered a head injury. He was taken to the hospital and the competition was forced to be suspended because there was no replacement ambulance on the scene. The doctor stayed overnight in the hospital and was discharged from the hospital the next morning. Sources said he was "okay" and was expected to return to the training ground soon and could compete in several U21 closed friendly matches during international match days. Manchester United paid about £1 million for the introduction of Conne, who comes from Mali club GuidarsFC. The club initially planned to gradually advance him to the first team, and the risk of this deal was very low considering the low transfer fee.
