Manchester United fans plan to protest the boss before the Premier League prelude

Manchester United fan organization "1958" announced that it will march again to protest the Glazers family before the Premier League opening match against Arsenal, and will point its finger at the team's new boss Ratcliffe for the first time.

"1958" has organized many demonstrations in recent years, calling for the replacement of control of the team. They confirmed that they will march to the Old Trafford Stadium in the Premier League prologue on August 17.

Ratcliffe, who owns 28.94% of Manchester United shares, has introduced widespread but sometimes unpopular changes since taking control of daily operations from the Glazer family in February 2024.

Organization: Ratcliffe and the Glazer family are in 1958, a spokesperson for "1958" said: "This is a new season, but the ownership issues remain. The Glazer family and their debt problems have been around for 20 years, which is too long and enough.

"We will not allow some optimism and a few shining new signs to divert attention from the larger situation off the field.

"Jim Ratcliffe chose to join the Glazer family, and in our opinion, he is helping them in power." A spokesman for 1958 said the protest was for "every fan who was silenced, expelled, squeezed away by high prices and ignored", adding that "it's about the future of football."

The organization also said: "Jim Ratcliffe, you have chosen your position, and that's not our position. You are now standing side by side with the Glazer family. The mask has slipped down. You are not the savior, you are like a red devil in disguise."

Ratcliffe hinted in March that if the abuse he suffered reaches the level of targeting the Glazer family, he will give up Manchester United.

Manchester United ranked 15th in the Premier League last season, the lowest top league ranking since 1974. After losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final, they completely missed the European Cup.
