In the final round of Group C of the European Group Stage of the World Cup Qualifiers on November 20, Scotland 4-2 Denmark, ranking first in the group and qualifying for the World Cup. Head coach Steve Clark expressed great joy in an interview.

Talking about qualifying for the World Cup, Clark said: "This should inspire young players to work hard to become future Scotland internationals. I hope this group of players can leave a valuable legacy for the next generation, so that we no longer have to wait such a long time to participate in the major competition again."

"By the way, how difficult it is to qualify for the World Cup now. It is much bigger than in the past, and if you look at the statistics, you will find that the road to promotion is very difficult now, even compared to the 1998 World Cup in France, when 15 of the 32 participating teams were from Europe, which was almost half. This time, there were only 16 European teams out of the 48 teams, which was almost a third. When you get older, you think, 'It must be easier to advance, but it's not. On the contrary, it becomes harder.'"

"I have always dreamed of participating in the World Cup. I was close to achieving this goal in 1990. I participated in the preliminary training camp to Italy in February of that year, but was not selected for the final roster. From then on, I had a strong desire. "I was very disappointed when we lost to Ukraine in the qualifiers last time. I thought it was my chance, but I believed in this group of players, so I persisted, and in the end, we did it. It was my lifelong dream to represent the national team in the World Cup, thank you to this group of players and my coaching team."
