Hupu August 19th News TheAthleticUK ace reporter David Ornstein led the weekly report.
Liverpool part, if Liverpool can't sign Isaac, do they look ready for the new season?
New aid Hugo Ekitic shines in his Premier League debut against Bournemouth, forming a forward trident with Cody Garkepo and Mohamed Salah, contributing a goal and an assist.
Isaac will be the perfect addition to Slott's current forward choice, and there is no sign that they will turn to Plan B.
What positions/players are they still considering?
Signing of Gesch and Isaac will be seen as the perfect end to Liverpool's busy summer end, and it will give them the depth they need on both ends of the offense and defense.
Given that the England international's contract with Crystal Palace is entering its final year and may leave the team for free next summer, Gerci is seen as a good transfer market opportunity. The situation in Isaac is even more complicated, with the striker eager to move to Anfield, but Newcastle United has so far refused to approve his sale and had rejected an initial offer of £110 million earlier this month.
Which players may leave?
Harvey Elliott's future remains unclear. Bundesliga team RB Leipzig sees him as a potential replacement for Simmons, but has not yet made a specific offer.
Zimekas is expected to leave before the transfer window is closed. The Greek international hopes to join a club that offers European qualifications and is more likely to transfer abroad rather than stay in the Premier League. For the moment, he retains his choice.
Liverpool are considering multiple ways to loan young players Lewis Kumas, James McConnell and Cad Gordon.
Kumas has also attracted some interest in permanent transfers, with Sheffield United, Hull City, Wrexham and Preston all salivating him.
Norwich City also intended to introduce him in the early stages of the transfer window, but eventually chose to sign Joe Von Macama from the League One team Lincoln City.
McConnell's suitors include West Bromwich, Oxford United, Hull City and Graz Storm, while Swansea City and Derby County are chasing Gordon.
