On October 31st, the NBA regular season Magic played against the Hornets away from home, which was the second game of back-to-back games for the Magic. The Magic used team offensive pressure to gradually gain a 16-point lead. The Hornets fought back tenaciously to catch up to only 3 points. The Magic then blossomed inside and outside and gradually expanded their 20+ lead in the final quarter. In the end, the Magic defeated the Hornets 123-107 to end their 4-game losing streak. The Hornets suffered a 2-game losing streak.

The Magic have lost four consecutive games to the Hawks, Bulls, 76ers and Pistons. The Hornets lost to the Heat 117-144 in their last away game. The Magic lacked Wagner in this game, and the Hornets lacked Miller, Gervais and Green. Both sides adjusted their starting lineups, starting Black and James respectively.
