June 4th, today, according to The Athletic reporter Joe Vardon, the Pacers' journey to the NBA Finals for the first time in 25 years encountered a small episode on Tuesday. The Pacers' team's charter flight was forced to switch to Tulsa due to a tornado warning near Will Rogers International Airport in Oklahoma City. The Pacers will play their first Finals game Thursday with the Thunder, who safely landed in Tulsa, about 110 miles from Oklahoma City after a tornado hit the area around 5 p.m. local time, according to team sources to TheAthletic. The walkers had only had a brief delay when taking off from Tulsa and were scheduled to leave at 5:45 pm. However, Oklahoma City is expected to experience severe thunderstorms Tuesday night, which has caused travel difficulties for hundreds of media members and suppliers who have travelled to the place to compete in the finals. The planes approaching Will Rogers Airport before the storm had to bypass towering cumulus clouds and strong winds, and passengers felt the bumps caused by the plane's escape from bad weather. As the storm approached, the airport was powered off for a while, and departure flights were forced to be grounded for about an hour. At least one tornado was witnessed Tuesday afternoon near the University of Oklahoma, about 23 miles south of Oklahoma City. However, it is not clear whether the tornado has landed or caused damage.
