The 76ers will not send George and the Tanhua lottery away in packages. Is this not good for the team s future development?

According to Substack reporter Jake Fischer, a source in the league revealed to him that the Philadelphia 76ers have no intention of breaking up the combination of Joel Embiid and Paul George this summer.
Fischer said that recent reports that the Sixers may explore George's trade during the draft are actually a misunderstanding of the situation. There is currently no sign that the team will plan to trade George with the Nanhua Lottery in this year's NBA Draft for a deal, or tout the former All-Star forward separately. The Sixers management knows it’s almost impossible for them to get the ideal return after the 35-year-old just finished his injury-ridden Philadelphia’s first season, especially given his max contract is three years away from expiration. In this case, sending George away is completely unfavorable to the team. In fact, there has been basically a consensus in the league since the 76ers of the free market started chasing George last year that unless George took the initiative to apply for a deal, it is almost impossible for the 76ers to consider the possibility of sending him away in the early stages of his joining. Once such an operation is performed, it will be detrimental to the team's long-term development and potential heavyweight signings in the future.
In the NBA regular season this season, George played 41 games in 82 games, averaging 32.5 minutes per game, averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 2.6 turnovers and 2.5 fouls. He shot 43% from the field, 35.8% from three-point shooting percentage and 81.4% from free throws. George has played very limitedly this season, and his performance on the court is also very disappointing. His average score has dropped to the lowest point since the 2015-16 season, and it has seen a cliff-like decline compared to previous seasons. George is able to provide some support to the team on the defensive end, but after all, he is a maximum salary player, not a player with a salary of tens of millions. His effect on the court seems to be no different from an ordinary 3D type forward player. The most important thing is that the 76ers, who were highly anticipated by everyone, have a terrible record this season, and the two core players George and Embiid are constantly suffering from injuries. Given their age and injury history in the past few seasons, it will be very difficult for them to return to their peak in the future. If the Sixers do not choose to send George away at the current stage, his form may even continue to decline next season. Then the question is, will the 76ers really choose to keep George as Fischer said? Or would he seize the opportunity to send George away while winning the Tanhua lottery?
