The Clippers selected the inside talent monster, but will Coach Lu really use this potential stock well?

In this year's NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers, who held the 30th pick in the first round, selected the Swiss inside star Yanic Konan Niederhauser, who had previously played for the NCAA team Penn State, with this first round pick.

Nidhauser was born in March 2003 and is a 22-year-old player with amazing physical talent and athleticism. According to the physical test data of previous NBA joint trials, his bare feet are 211.5cm tall, his wingspan is 221.6cm, his standing height is 281.9cm, and his weight is 110kg. In the NCAA field this season, Nedhauser made a total of 29 appearances, averaging 25.1 minutes per game, with averaging 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 2.3 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers and 2.5 fouls. His shooting percentage was 61.1%, a three-point shooting percentage of 9.1%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 66.4%. Niedhauser's performance this season has also been widely recognized. He was also invited to participate in the G League Elite Training Camp and was admitted to the NBA joint trial with his outstanding performance in the Elite Training Camp.

From the perspective of characteristics, Niedhauser has quite good defensive abilities. He has outstanding performance in protecting the basket and inside defense, and he also has a huge defensive coverage area. Niedhauser also has good scoring and finishing skills at the basket on the offensive end. However, Niedhauser still lacks some independent scoring ability and shooting ability, and he also lacks basic shooting ability. His performance in these aspects is still obviously not ideal. It is worth noting that Niedhauser performed very well in the G League elite training camp and in the NBA joint trial training, showing quite good personal abilities. His maturity seems to be much stronger than everyone imagined. Therefore, his draft market has also soared, and he entered the first round zone at the last moment.

From the Clippers' perspective, Niedhauser can become a potential candidate for the team's substitute center, and the team also needs defenders like him with excellent physical talent and athletic ability and faster movement speed to deal with their opponents' different lineups and styles of play. Niedhauser's characteristics are perfectly complementary to the team's starting center Ivica Zubac, which is also quite good. However, on the other hand, Nedhauser is more or less worried about his maturity. The Clippers will also hope that players with higher combat capabilities will appear among rotation players, and the team's head coach Tyronn Lue is not a coach who is good at using young players. Then the question is, will Nedhauser really get enough opportunities to perform next season?
