The defensive ability is recognized! The Mavericks used the last two-way contract to sign the undrafted inside player?

The Dallas Mavericks officially announced that the team has converted the contract of inside rookie Moussa Cisse, who previously held an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, into a two-way contract. He will also remain on the team's roster for the new season. If Cisse can finish the full season with the Mavericks, he will also become a restricted free agent next summer.

Cisse, from Guinea, was born in September 2002. He is 23 years old, 211cm tall and weighs 104kg. He was the undrafted pick in this year's NBA draft. Last season, Cisse transferred from the University of Mississippi to join the University of Memphis. In the NCAA last season, Cisse played a total of 35 times for the University of Memphis, 16 of which were starters. He averaged 18.2 minutes per game and averaged 5.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.6 blocks, 1 turnover and 2.5 fouls. He shot 54.8% from the field and 48.8% from the free throw line. Cisse's overall performance last season was good. He was shortlisted for the AAC League's best championship team last season. His performance on the defensive end can still be recognized by everyone.

After the draft, the Mavericks provided Cisse with a training camp contract that included an Exhibit 10 clause. In the previous NBA Summer League, Cisse played a total of 5 times, averaging 13.8 minutes per game. He averaged 5.4 points, 4 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. He also had 0.4 turnovers and 2 fouls. He shot 60% from the field and 37.5% from the free throw line. In the previous NBA preseason, Cisse played a total of 3 times, averaging 11.7 minutes per game. He averaged 2 points, 4 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 2.3 blocks per game, 0.7 turnovers and 2.7 fouls. His field goal percentage was 75% and his free throw percentage was 0%. Cisse didn't play too much during the summer league and preseason, but he also seized the opportunity to use his talents on the defensive end. Cisse's ability to defend inside and protect the basket is outstanding. It is not easy to be able to show such competitiveness with limited playing time.

It seems that Cisse's performance during the training camp and preseason has been fully recognized by the team's coaching staff, and he has become a dark horse among the two-way contract contenders. With the signing of Cisse, the Mavericks also sent out all three two-way contracts. The other two players holding two-way contracts are backcourt player Ryan Nembhard and wing player Miles Kelly. I wonder if Cisse will get more performance opportunities in the NBA in the new season. Can he further utilize his strong personal defensive ability in the NBA?
