The Warriors will sign the former Jazz backcourt star, and what he should get is a training camp contract?

According to HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto, the Golden State Warriors are interested in signing backcourt player Taevion Kinsey. Although Scotto did not clearly state the specific content of Kinsey's contract, if nothing unexpected happens, Kinsey got a training camp contract containing Exhibit 10 clauses, and he also needs to fight for a chance to stay in the team through training camp and preseason.

Kinsey was born in March 2000 and is 25 years old, 196cm tall and weighs 86kg. He is the undraft in the 2023 NBA Draft. Kinse signed a ten-day short contract with the Utah Jazz in March 2024, but he did not get a chance to play. He had received a two-way contract from the Jazz last summer, but he was cut by the team before the regular season began. In the past two seasons, Kinsey has been playing for Salt Lake City Star, a Jazz's NBA Development League team. His performance in the NBA Development League can only be considered as moderate and not particularly outstanding.

In the NBA Development League last season, Kinsey made a total of 50 appearances, averaging 33.8 minutes per game, averaging 12.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1 steal, 0.3 blocks, and 1.2 turnovers and 1.5 fouls. His shooting percentage was 52.9%, three-point shooting percentage was 33.6%, and free throw shooting percentage was 66.2%. Kinsey's performance in the NBA Development League can only be considered a sloppy level. He has certain scoring ability, but he is not outstanding. He has certain passing ability, but he is just sloppy. His contribution to the defensive end is also relatively limited.

Kinsey previously represented the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Summer League. He played 6 games in the summer league, averaging only 8.9 minutes per game, averaging 4.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 0.7 steals, 0.2 turnovers and 0.3 fouls, shooting percentage of 55%, three-point shooting percentage of 22%, and free throw percentage of 75%. Kinse has very limited playing time during the summer league, and his performance does not have much highlights. Combined with Kinse's performance in recent seasons and the Warriors' current personnel situation, Kinse can basically only get a training camp contract containing Exhibit 10 clauses. If Kinse is confirmed to have received a training camp contract with Exhibit 10 clauses from the Warriors, he is then cut by the Warriors before the start of the regular season, joins the Warriors' NBA Development League team Santa Cruz Warriors after the start of the regular season, and stays with the Santa Cruz Warriors for 60 days, then he can get a maximum of $85,300 from the Warriors.
