Tyronn Lue: The game plan was for Jokic to score, but I didn’t expect him to score 55 points

The Nuggets defeated the Clippers 130-116 in an away game and won 6 consecutive games. The latter suffered a 6-game losing streak.

Jokic played less than 34 minutes, making 18 of 23 shots, 5 of 6 three-pointers, 14 of 16 free throws, scoring 55 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists, with only 2 turnovers, and a net victory of 28 points. Jokic's true shooting percentage in this game exceeded 90%.

After the game, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said: "Our game plan was to let him score and not let him pass. I didn't expect him to score 55 points."

In the past six games, Jokic only played 33.2 minutes per game, scoring 35.8 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 1.8 steals, shooting 73.9% from the field, 55.6% from the three-point range, 85.7% from the free throw line, and 83% from the field. The Nuggets outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points per game when on the court.

What’s interesting is that this is the first time Jokic has won with 50 points in his career. He has scored 50 points a total of 5 times.
