May 29th According to sports reporter Chris Fedor, the Cavaliers may trade Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland this offseason. Chris Fedor said: "I think the only players in the Cavaliers who are currently untouchable are Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. And I feel from multiple channels that the Cavaliers are now more open to trading Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland than before, and at least consider these possibilities."

"I think that when the Cavaliers' current lineup reaches this stage, the season ends much earlier than everyone expected, and they are facing huge pressure on the salary cap, you have to start thinking about some alternatives, start some difficult and painful conversations, and maybe make some unbearable lineup subtraction."

Last summer, Evan Mobley signed a five-year, $224 million early contract renewal with the Cavaliers. As he won the 2024-25 Defensive Player Award (DPOY), a clause in the contract was triggered, increasing his annual salary in the first year of his new contract from 25% of the salary cap to 30%. Therefore, the Cavaliers currently expect total salary in the 2025-26 season to reach $219 million, exceeding the second cap threshold set by the league.

This season, the Cavaliers are the top seeds in the Eastern Conference, and they swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs, but lost 1-4 to the Indiana Pacers in the second round, stopping there.

Garland was selected for his second All-Star this season. He averaged 20.6 points and 6.7 assists in the regular season, and 18.0 points and 5.2 assists in the playoffs.

Allen played 82 games in the regular season this season, averaging 13.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. In the playoffs, he averaged 13.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks per game.
