05 May 15th News Tafarell, the mother of the late former Nantes striker Sara, was interviewed by the Team News during a closed-door hearing on the Professional Sports Organization Management and Financing Act.

In January 2019, 28-year-old Sarah joined Cardiff from Ligue 1 Nantes for 17 million euros, but an accident occurred before Sarah went to report to her new owner. The private plane crashed near the English Channel, and Sarah was unfortunately killed.

Why did you agree to testify in the Senate?

Tafarell: I was invited by the French authorities to convey a message to help promote changes in football management. I hope this avoids another 'new Sara'. As a mother, I still can't understand what's going on. People tell me a lot of things but don't give a clear and clear reason (all the details about this tragedy).

What do you want to condemn?

Tafarel: Condemn, I'm not sure, but I want to express my despair. My mind was stuck with the last sentence Sara said to me: ‘I’ll call you in two hours. ’I’m still waiting for his call. It's been six years and four months.

Do you think there are other responsible persons for this matter?

Tafarell: Of course there are other responsible persons, and we are not clear about the specific management and organization of this trip. I hope to know the whole truth.

Are you unhappy with the judgment you have made, such as the 18-month jail sentence for flight operator David Henderson in Cardiff in November 2021?

Tafarell: Yes to some extent, but some people are still at large and I don't think they should.

How have Nantes Football Club, Cardiff City, Willy McKay, the middleman who organized the deadly flight, and Sarah's then agent Mesa Endiaye, performed over the years?

Tafarell: I don't know Willie McKay, he never contacted me. Mesa Ndiaye was very nice to us, he always stayed with me and sent me messages often, especially on Christmas. As for Nantes, their chairman Kita came to meet me when I was about to return to Argentina after I discovered the body. He gave me a check, settled Sarah's entire account, and told me that Nantes' contract with my son was over. Then he left without even saying goodbye. As for Cardiff, I have nothing to say, they were well received.

More than six years have passed, how do you feel after losing Sarah?

Tafarell: It's still very painful. His brother, sister and me are the same. This incident has broken our family. We are still waiting for him to come back (she paused and burst into tears).

The financial dispute over the matter between Nantes and Cardiff Club continues in civil court, what do you think about this?

Tafarell: I don't want to talk about this, this is what their lawyers should deal with. They know better than I do.
