In the Italian Cup final, Bologna defeated Milan 1-0 and successfully won the championship. Bologna captain Lewis Ferguson attended the post-match press conference.

Bologna won the Italian Cup again after 51 years. How does it feel like in the locker room now?

We played a great game, we dominated, and we created more opportunities. We deserve this trophy, which is incredible for the whole of Bologna.

You are all doing well when you have the ball or when you don't have the ball

We are prepared for this game just like other games, just like before last week's away game against Milan. We lost that game at the time, and after the game we had a conversation in the locker room and we were not satisfied with our performance. And from that point on, we trained well for the next three or four days and won the game tonight the right way. It was a wonderful night.

Bologna participated in the Champions League this season, how important is this to you?

We have grown a lot through the Champions League. Tonight's game was like a Champions League... Now we have more experience and we have performed well in the 8 Champions League games this season.

You have made progress

Since you said that... since I came here, we have improved every season, constantly improving in terms of game level and work attitude. We made history last season, qualifying for the Champions League, and today we won the Italian Cup again. We are very happy and now we will be more motivated.

How did you feel at the end of the game? Have you ever recalled the injuries you encountered?

Of course, I was seriously injured before and was absent for several months, during which time I worked very hard to recover. Then I was injured again… The year was really tough, but now I’m so happy. We played a historic game tonight.

Now there is a completely new perspective

I also participated in a final while playing in Scotland, but lost at the time. I watched that game again this morning as a motivation to play tonight's game. This victory is of great significance.
