Girou announced his farewell to the Los Angeles FC of the Major League Soccer (MLS) and has reached an agreement to return to European football this summer.

Girou's last game in Los Angeles FC is scheduled to be played on June 29, against the Vancouver White Caps. After a year in the United States, the French striker is eager to return to Europe.

According to well-known journalist Fabricio Romano, Giroud has agreed to sign a one-year contract with Ligue 1 club Lille. He has completed a physical examination with Lille and is preparing to return to his homeland later in his career. After the two sides reached an agreement, Los Angeles FC agreed to let Giroud leave the team.

The French striker has contributed five goals in 37 games since moving to Los Angeles FC from AC Milan last summer. During his time in the United States, he also made history and became the oldest European player score record holder in MLS history (38 years, 6 months and 19 days).

Girou's career began in France, playing for clubs such as Grenoble, Eastres, Tours and Montpellier. Before moving to Arsenal in 2012, he won the Ligue 1 championship with Montpellier in the 2011/12 season.

At Arsenal, Giroud won three FA Cup titles and three Community Shield Championships. After leaving Arsenal, he joined Chelsea and AC Milan one after another, and then went to the United States to play for Los Angeles FC. Now, with his return to Lille, the experienced striker will once again show his strength in the European arena.
