Chelsea winger Noni Maduec has officially confirmed his departure and has posted an emotionally sincere farewell letter through social media. The next stop for the England international will be his city rival Arsenal. It is reported that the transfer fee can reach up to £52 million, which will also become the Gunners' fourth important signing this summer.

Maduek's transfer trend has attracted the attention of some fans. He comes from the London Club youth training system. He played for Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace youth training camps in his early years. He joined Chelsea for about £29 million in January 2023. What is quite dramatic is that his first goal in the Blues' career was scored at Arsenal's home Emirates Stadium, and this goal scene became the opening scene of his farewell video.

In a farewell letter to Chelsea, Maduec wrote: "Dear Chelsea Football Club, thank you for the past three years. Pay tribute to every staff who have helped me, thank my teammates, and only love and admiration when we part. We have achieved remarkable achievements this season, and I sincerely wish you all a bright future." He especially thanked coach Enzo Maresca: "I am honored to play under your command, thank you for your cultivation of my skills and character." Finally, he greeted the Blues fans: "I thank all Chelsea fans: I am grateful for your love, praise and even criticism, all of which I remember. There are only beautiful memories here."

However, Maduec's new journey in North London is not a smooth road. Recent rumors about his joining have triggered resistance from some Arsenal fans. The core controversy lies in the position arrangement in the team's tactical system. As a left-footed player but prefers the right winger position, Maduec will face serious challenges in Mikel Arteta's main lineup - a position that has been firmly occupied by core player Bukayo Saka.

At the end of last season, then-Chelsea coach Maresca tried to deploy Maduec on the left wing, but the effect was fluctuating. At Arsenal, most opinions are expected to be Gabriel Martinelli will still be the first choice for the left position. How Maduec integrates into the Gunners' tactical territory will become a major highlight of the new season.
