On July 29, Manchester United officially announced that it would renew its contract with 21-year-old goalkeeper Wittke until 2028, and then loaned him out to Bristol City, the English Championship, for a season.
Witke had previously trained with Manchester United's first team, and the loan from the Championship helped him accumulate valuable game experience. Last season, Bristol City ranked 6th in the Championship, and they lost to Sheffield United in the Champions League upgrade play-off. This will be Wittke's third time in loan sharing. In 2024, he was temporarily loaned out of Ackerlington. Last season, he had a successful season in Blue and White Linz, Austria.
Bristol City will start the new season on August 9, and they will challenge Sheffield United away in the first game.
