June 28, Marcha reported that Barcelona successfully restructured its debts and provided long-term financial support for the "New Camp Nou" project.
Barcelona announced that it has successfully reorganized more than 40% of the "New Camp Nou" project debt. Specifically, Barcelona refinanced a large amount of debt related to facility renovation by issuing bonds worth 424 million euros. This operation allows some of the debts that originally expired in 2028 to be repaid until 2033, and finally all of them will be paid off in 2050.
Barca said that with the support of financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, they were able to use the existing financial structure to postpone the 424 million euros of debt from the 2028 maturity date to the new repayment framework. The average financing cost is 5.19%, indicating that the club has gained strong demand in the market, while the economic situation is also showing a positive trend, with the risk premium being almost reduced in half.
In addition, the club emphasized that this move not only ensured the gradual repayment of the debts related to the "New Camp Nou" but also completed the original refinancing plan ahead of schedule. Recently, rating agency Morningstar DBRS also raised the credit rating outlook for Club Barcelona from stable to positive.
Partially renovated stadiums are expected to reopen during the Gambel Cup match on August 10. Funding for the entire "New Camp Nou" project began in April 2023, when 20 investors participated in the investment totaling 1.45 billion euros.
The project includes multiple installment arrangements for different periods and, upon completion of construction, the loan is expected to be repaid through the income generated by Camp Nou (approximately 247 million euros).
