May 28th, La Plata University Student Club officially confirmed that Argentine football legend Juan Ramon Veron died at the age of 81.
University student La Plata issued an obituary confirming that the father of the club chairman Juan Sebastian Veron died in the company of his family at the age of 81, and extended deep condolences to the Veron family.
Juan Ramon Peron played as a midfielder and forward in his time as a player. He played for La Plata University, Panasinacos, Barranquilla Youth, and Cucuta Sports, helping La Plata University students win the 1967 Argentina League championship, the 1968, 1969, and 1970 South American Liberators Cup championship, and the 1968 Intercontinental Cup championship. At the national team level, Juan Ramon Veron played 4 times for Argentina.
