talkSPORT Exclusive: Ghana FA wants to convince Chelsea centre-back Achim Pong to play in World Cup

Hupu, October 29th, talkSPORT chief reporter Alex Crook exclusively reported that Chelsea’s England U21 defender Josh Achimpon is receiving attention from the Ghana national team.
Acheampong has a breakthrough at Stamford Bridge this season. Since his parents are Ghanaian, he is eligible to represent this African team.
The centre-back can also feature for the Republic of Ireland, but all of his youth team experience to date has been with England.
Ghana also realizes that Achimpong may take some time to make a decision, but they hope that the team's promotion to next summer's World Cup will impress him.
Achimpon has performed well in the Chelsea first team this season and has played 5 times in the Premier League and 2 times in the Champions League.
In the 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, he also scored the first goal of his career.
