July 17th According to the British media Daily Telegraph, Liverpool is about to reach an agreement with Frankfurt striker Ekitic.

A offer is being formally submitted and negotiations on Ekitic have entered an in-depth stage. He is now expected to join Liverpool and bring the Reds' spending this summer past the 250 million pound mark.

Ekitic has a 86.5 million termination clause, although Liverpool hopes to sign him for a lower price. Whether Frankfurt will insist on Liverpool paying the full termination remains to be seen. The key point is that Ekitic has informed his club that he hopes to transfer to Anfield and sign a six-year contract.

Before this, Newcastle was also interested in Ekitic, but their previous offer was rejected and has now given up on it. It is understood that Manchester United is also very interested in Ekitic, but once Liverpool takes action, the negotiations will move forward quickly and take him to Anfield. Liverpool hopes he will join as soon as possible as they prepare to set off for Asia for a preseason trip next week.

Liverpool has been looking for a replacement for Nunez for the past 12 months, looking at multiple options and preparing to take action when key goals are actionable.

Newcastle striker Isaac is one of the top targets on the shortlist, but its price of over 120 million pounds and the prospect of long negotiations have turned Liverpool to other options.

Ekitic has been inspected for a long time and meets the club's usual signing standards: a young player who was highly praised in his youth team and later joined the big club Paris, but after joining Frankfurt, he performed well in the Bundesliga and UEFA Cup and proved his strength.

He will be Liverpool's third major deal from the Bundesliga, after signing Wilz and Flynnon from Leverkusen. Liverpool also signed left-back Kolkedz from Bournemouth.

Liverpool is expected to leave the team, with Nunes most likely leaving the team. Nunez has attracted attention from Italy and Saudi Arabia, and the club hopes to raise at least £70 million from his sale.
