Ronaldo's former teammate Federico Bernardeski elaborated on the main differences he sees as Messi and the Portuguese superstar. These two players are undoubtedly the peerless two-character pride in the world football in the past twenty years, and have won countless individual and team honors.

In an interview with Turin Sports, Bernardeschi pointed out that although it has been compared for many years, Messi and Ronaldo are actually completely opposite. He praised his former teammate as a revolutionary because athletes from numerous events have borrowed from his training methods to stay in shape.

"They are two different worlds. Like Ronaldo, Messi is difficult for you to understand as a player. But they are the opposite: Messi attracts your attention, he makes some seemingly unreal actions, he has aura that does not belong to this world. Ronaldo has another characteristic: he has completely changed the world of football and even the entire sports world. Messi, like (Diego) Maradona, has a sense of sacredness. If athletes today pay attention to every detail of training preparation, it will be attributed to Ronaldo."

Italian winger Bernardeski played side by side with Ronaldo at Juventus and won two Serie A titles in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. After he transferred to Toronto FC, he faced the Argentine star on the court many times after Messi joined Miami International in 2023. This summer, at the age of 31, he returned to Serie A to join Italian Cup champion Bologna.

Messi and Ronaldo have been dominating the world football world since the late 2000s, and they have won 13 Golden Globe Awards in total. Although they are 38 and 40 years old respectively, and are in their twilight years of their careers, there are always comparisons about these two people.
