The Lakers want Wiggins? It’s not worth it to take advantage of Reeves, what really needs to be strengthened is the inside

Recently, the famous reporter Buha talked about the topic of the Lakers' summer recruitment. He believed that Wiggins was very suitable for the Lakers and could fill the gap in the wing position of the Purple and Gold Army. Subsequently, the famous sports platform "FW" followed up and provided the Lakers with a three-party trading plan. Many people think that the Lakers need to supplement the defense on the wing. When James, Reeves and Doncic are on the court, the team's defense obviously cannot keep up, so they want to trade to Wiggins as the wing defender.

The third-party trading plan given by the US media "FW" is as follows:

Lakers get: Wiggins, 2024 first round 15th pick big center Claire Will;

Heat get: Morant

Grizzlies get: Reeves + Finney Smith (sign first and then exchange) + two first-round picks.

This transaction seems that all three teams have been supplemented to a certain extent, and even improved the team's strength. The Lakers have Wiggins to improve their defense, the Heat have Modette to increase the team's firepower, and the Grizzlies have a good ball holder in the first round. However, it is already a fact that Wiggins's condition has declined severely. Although the Heat has played in a highlight moment, it is still a downward trend. Wiggins, who represented the Heat in the playoffs, averaged 30.5 minutes per game, scoring only 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 blocks, shooting percentage of 37.2% and three-point shooting percentage of 35%.

What's more, Wiggins has two years of contracts, namely $28.22 million and $30.17 million respectively. Because of the decline in scoring status, the defense is not as good as before, so it is difficult to find the next contract. The Lakers may not have to take the risk of getting Wiggins, and it is also good to keep Reeves, at least suitable for the Lakers today. What the Lakers really need to strengthen is the inside line, the center position is very weak, and even if they trade Reeves, it is used to replace the big center.
