Note: Father Roderick Proctor Proctor) has played at the NCAA Division II team Mississippi College this season: 38 appearances, 29.9 minutes per game, 12.4 points and 3 rebounds (0.5 frontcourt rebounds), 2.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.1 blocks, 1.1 turnovers and 1.9 fouls, shooting percentage of 45.2% (4.3/9.6), 40.5% (2.3/5.8), and 68% (1.3/2).
Advantages:
Prockett is a big backcourt player with delicate skills, comprehensive comprehensive abilities and high plasticity. He has excellent physical control and coordination, and his dribbling skills are also quite good. Proctor is good at using scoring changes in rhythm and speed to complete breakthroughs or find shot opportunities for himself. His three-point shooting percentage has improved significantly this season, and his improvement in the number of three-pointers is obvious to all. He has become a good pitcher.
Prockett has good defensive prediction and defensive skills on the defensive end, and he can also read the opponent's offense and make correct decisions. Proctor has a very obvious advantage in body shape, and he is also able to defend against players in multiple positions.
Procket has good passing ability and organizational ability. He is also good at pick-and-roll. He can find space for shooting after pick-and-roll, and he can also assist the inside players who are going down. Proctor is also a player with online football maker and game reading ability, and he is able to read his opponent's defense on the court.
Prockett is a player with high plasticity. He seems to be able to undertake various tasks. His shooting percentage outside the three-point line has made everyone see more possibilities in the future.
Disadvantages:
Prockett's shortcomings in impact and explosive power are quite obvious, which also makes it difficult for him to make breakthroughs through his talent advantages, and he doesn't like to attack his opponent's basket, which can also be reflected in his lower free throw count. Although Proctor has made significant improvements in shooting, there are obvious problems with his shooting movements. Whether he can maintain such shooting percentage and such outside shooting output when facing higher intensity defense is a question mark. It seems that Proctor's offensive diversity is still somewhat insufficient.
Prockett is very average in terms of movement speed and athletic ability, which also leads to concerns about his development on the defensive end. Even though his defensive ability and defensive awareness are good, his talent disadvantage will also lead to some trouble when encountering some faster and more explosive offensive players. Proctor lacks enough motivation in rebounding, which is obviously not a good sign.
Prockett's assists this season have dropped significantly. His passing ability is actually not bad, but he is not a major ball holder in the team, which also shows that his ability in this regard has not been fully recognized by the team's coaching staff. With Proctor's current performance, we will also be a little worried about whether he can be the first ball holder well.
Expected market:
At present, Proctor still has a certain draft market. He seems to have a chance to be selected in the second round, and it seems that his draft market is still gradually improving. Proctor's performance this season should be sufficiently recognized, which is also an important factor in the significant improvement of his draft market. Of course, the situation is not very clear now. After all, Proctor was once considered a strong contender in the lottery zone and even the top 10 pick two years ago, and he may not necessarily appear in this year's NBA Draft. He may also choose to play in the NCAA field for another year next season to further improve his shortcomings.
Personal prediction:
Personal belief that Proctor, as a junior, should continue to stay in the draft if he has a high probability of being shortlisted for the second round. Proctor is also a player with very comprehensive abilities. He has good ball handling skills on the offensive end, and his significant improvement in efficiency outside the three-point line will also give everyone greater confidence in his adaptability after entering the NBA.. Proctor is actually a player with a high level of maturity. His upper limit may not be too high, and it is difficult for him to have the opportunity to become an excellent NBA player. However, in the second team, he can actually use his all-round ability to play some roles. It is estimated that some teams that need to improve their backcourt strength will consider choosing him. With Proctor's characteristics and comprehensive abilities, he actually had the opportunity to be selected in the early stage of the second round.
Target teams:
Sacramento Kings, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards
Some teams that need to find a qualified ball-holding backcourt in the second team should consider Proctor as a potential second-round pick. The above teams actually need this type of player. Considering Proctor's all-round ability, considering that he can play with balls or offs, considering that he can match starters and substitutes at the same time, considering that he also has a relatively high level of maturity and has proven his ability on both offense and defense this season, he may be very valuable for some playoff-level teams. Personally, Nemhard, who has already gained a foothold in the Pacers, has also taken this into consideration as Proctor's template. Perhaps Proctor's pick will not be very high, but this does not mean that he will not be able to gain a foothold in the NBA arena.
