Norman Powell, a backcourt star who had just joined the Miami Heat from the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade, was interviewed by reporters. In the interview, he also talked about his feelings about joining the Heat and whether he is an underrated player.

When talking about how I feel about joining the Heat, Powell said: I have had text messages with head coach Eric Spoelstra before, and I know Pat Riley, as well as the team's coaching staff and management, are very satisfied with the deal, and they revealed to me that they have been trying to bring me in the past few seasons. When you are traded to a team that really desires you, the feeling of being watched for a long time and being expected by the whole team is really great. The Heat analyzed in detail my scoring explosive power, my versatility and the chemistry that I and the team’s existing roster may have. I am able to help the team through a variety of offenses and open up space for my teammates, and I am able to play an important role in the team.

When asked if he was an underrated player, Powell continued: I think it may be. Although I never want to look at myself in this way, I think the outside world has indeed underestimated my value and my role in the team to a certain extent, and everyone may still not really recognize my full strength. It was not until last season that everyone finally began to say that this guy is really amazing. He can become a scoring point that the team can rely on every night, and he can rely on his own efforts to help the team win.

In the NBA regular season last season, Powell was affected by injuries in 82 games, with a total of 60 appearances for the Clippers, averaging 32.6 minutes per game, averaging 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 1.8 turnovers and 1.9 fouls, shooting percentage of 48.4%, three-point shooting percentage of 41.8%, and free throw shooting percentage of 80.4%. In the playoffs, Powell played 7 games in total, with averaging 34 minutes per game, with averaging 16 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers and 2.1 fouls. His shooting percentage was 47.2%, his three-point shooting percentage was 35%, and his free throw shooting percentage was 77.8%.

Powell performed quite well last season, especially in the first half. Before he was injured, he also showed his strong personal ability. His performance in all aspects has improved significantly, and he also played the strongest season of his career. However, Powell's performance in the second half of the season and during the playoffs also showed a significant decline, which may be an important factor in the team's choice to send him away. I don’t know what Powell will perform after joining the Heat.
