The Timberwolves submitted a clip of Rudy Gobert being fouled to the NBA, which sparked concerns as they lost to the Warriors in the first game and the second game is approaching. The Minnesota Timberwolves formally submitted video evidence to the NBA office after losing to the Golden State Warriors 88-99 in the opening game of the Western Conference Semi-Finals on Tuesday night after they expressed concerns about the physical damage Rudy Gobert suffered during the game.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch revealed the submitted video evidence at a media meeting Wednesday, recorded by ESPN's Dave McMenaming. Finch said the team collected multiple video clips to prove they believed Gobert had been fouled by excessive and ignoring the referee in the defensive rebounding battle.

"In terms of defensive rebounds, they often fouled Rudy [Gobert], hugged, shoved, shoved and grappled. It was obvious," Finch said. "We submitted a lot of these video clips to the league [office]. In fact, I'm not sure which player in the league is as capable as Rudy and can be beaten like this. So, we have to find a way to solve this problem." Chris Finch talked about the Warriors' performance in Game 1: "They often foul, hug, shov, shov and grapple against Rudy [Gobert]." Finch said the Timberwolves have submitted video clips to the league [office] to review the referee's decision and omissions.

Rudy Gobert dominates the Timberwolves' second game against the Warriors, and the Timberwolves question the referee's law enforcement.

Gobert was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year four times. He made 4 of 7 shots in Game 1, scoring 9 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. He played a key role in the Timberwolves’ interior defense, but Finch’s remarks highlighted growing dissatisfaction with the way the referee handles the ball in the interior confrontation.

Minnesota Timberwolves limited Golden State Warriors to under 100 points, but struggled on the offensive end with no player scoring more than 23 points. Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 23 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and 1 block in 42 minutes. The team shot only 39.5% from the field and made 16 turnovers in the loss.

At the same time, the Warriors were forced to make adjustments after being absent due to a hamstring injury in the early part of the second quarter. Although Curry played only 13 minutes, the Golden State Warriors led 1-0 in the series with the contributions of Buddy Hilder, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler III. Afterward, Curry was diagnosed with a minor strain on his left hamstring and will miss the second game. The team announced that he will be re-evaluated in a week and is expected to miss multiple games in the series. The second game of the

series will be held at the Target Center on Thursday, and the game will be broadcast on TNT TV at 8:30 pm ET. The Timberwolves will strive to rebound strongly and equalize the score. Gobert's inside performance and the team's ability to create second-offensive opportunities may be crucial, especially with the Golden State Warriors' on-field commander absent.

Finch's remarks and the team's formal complaints indicate that the Timberwolves are interested in putting pressure on the league to make it more scrutinized for Gobert's matchup in the inside. Whether the league will respond to this remains to be seen, but the tone of the physical confrontation of this series has been determined.
