October 7th: Recently, American reporter John Hollinger talked about the prospects of the Green Army in his podcast. He believed that the latter might not be able to make the playoffs.
"The Celtics face multiple challenges next season, and the prospects for the new season are confusing. Their frontcourt lineup may be embarrassing. They may be able to make the play-offs, but they may not be able to do so in the end. My confusion mainly lies in their style. I call the Celtics an 'extreme' team because they go to the extreme in many aspects "They rarely break to the basket and rarely get to the free throw line, but they take a lot of three-pointers. On the defensive end, they also don't allow their opponents to easily break to the basket or get free throw opportunities. Can this style of play continue when they lose important players from last season?" Hollinger said.
"The Celtics' offensive pace is very slow and their turnover rate is low, which makes them prone to getting into trouble on the offensive end. It is generally believed that they will continue to adhere to "mathematical basketball," but I would like to see them try more changes this season, such as reducing too many three-point shots and re-emphasis on the impact on the basket to increase scoring efficiency and create foul opportunities. The Celtics have been regulars in the playoffs for the past ten years, which has earned them many optimistic voices. However, their bench depth has not been proven, and there is uncertainty about the interior rotation. In addition, Anfernee Simons is considered a potential trade target, and the possibility of a trade to relieve the luxury tax pressure is very interesting. I am very interested in their performance without Tatum and Jaylen Brown as a core player. I hope to see them try a different style of play more, instead of just relying on a lot of three-point shooting.
