Warriors suppress the Timberwolves, Pacers kill the Knights: The lower one, is that simple?

2:43am, 13 May 2025Basketball

Welcome back to the Shisan Arena.

Talk about the two games today -

Pacers 120:119 Cavaliers, completed a 20-point reversal and returned to Indiana with a 2:0 record.

In the last 12 seconds of the game, the Cavaliers led the Pacers by 3 points with 119:116; but then Struz made a mistake in serving on the sideline, and Halliburton rushed to the basket to get a free throw opportunity.

I thought that after Halliburton's free throw, the Pacers would have to take tactical fouls to fight for the next attack opportunity.

Unexpectedly, after Halliburton lost the second free throw, he scored the frontcourt rebound by himself, then dribbled the ball and retreated to the outside of the three-point line, killing the game with a desperate three-pointer.

3+1 may be common, but this kind of 1+3 is really rare - and it also happens at the last moment of the game.

What's more interesting is that before Halliburton hit this 3 point, the Pacers' offensive choices - in the last 35 seconds of the game, Halliburton made a layup blocked by Allen;

Then Siakam broke through with the ball and scored 2 points easily;

Then the Cavaliers made a mistake in the sideline ball, and Harry rushed to the basket with the ball and caused a foul...

3 consecutive attacks, all rushing to the basket - so the Cavaliers finally contracted by inertia, leaving room for Haliburton to attack.

So in the end, the Cavaliers, the number one in the East, lost two home games in a row, and their situation was already extremely passive.

also made Mitchell's 48 points, 9 assists and 4 steals, becoming an empty score.

Of course, the Knight probably is not desperate yet.

Garland has never played the game since the first round of G2; today, if Mobley and Hunter are missing, their overall strength will naturally be greatly reduced.

Now the team has lost two home games in a row, and G3 Mobley and Garland should be back no matter how hard it is - Hunter may have recovered a little longer due to dislocating his fingers.

Then, Mitchell probably won't be able to get out of the game with a cramp, causing the head coach to use the last timeout too early in order to get him back on the court.

Before, many fans always disliked Garland for not being outstanding, but after he was really absent, he seemed to be important - a deputy attacker who can carry the output and organize the offense, which is really hard to find.

Just like the Cavaliers' encirclement of Halliburton today, it was mostly successful. He didn't get any balls in the first three quarters, and he only had 4 assists in the game.

But Nembhard took over the organizational scene and sent 13 assists throughout the game to ensure that the Pacers' offense did not fall into stagnation, and finally waited for Halliburton's outbreak in the final quarter.

Another venue, the Warriors 99:88 Timberwolves, are still the top-up - the five games played so far in the second round, and the top team has not won a single victory.

Curry only played less than 13 minutes before suffering a hamstring strain and quit the game; but scored 13 points, helping the team to gain a 10-point lead. After

, the Warriors led the Timberwolves at most 23 points. Edwards tried his best to catch up in the second half, but he failed to catch up.

After Curry left the court, the Warriors continued to expand their lead by relying on 14 points in a single quarter in the second quarter - of course, Edwards' extremely miserable halftime 0 of 8 shots and only scored 1 point.

to the second half, Edwards made 9 of 14 shots and scored 22 points, and the Timberwolves once narrowed the score to less than 10 points.

But the Warriors also ushered in a breakout from Hilder - 0 of 7 in the first half and scored only 2 points; but 7 of 12 in the second half, also scoring 22 points.

and Butler, who had 20 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals in the game, led the team to hold down the Timberwolves' counterattack.

So in the end, Curry's Warriors lost and took the G1 together - just like the first round G3, the Warriors who missed Butler shot down the Rockets

Of course, Curry's injury still gave them a layer of haze - the hamstring strain is a thing. The recovery period for the first-degree strain is usually 10 days, and the second-degree strain is 31 days.

The Warriors have not announced Curry's specific situation at present, but only said that they need to undergo an MRI test.

And even from today on, this round of series will have to play at least G6 to win a 10-day recovery period for Curry.

Finally, let's talk about the Timberwolves - Edwards only sent 2 assists today.

The Warriors' defense certainly tests the level of the ball, but Edwards actually has no intention of passing the ball in this game.

Number of attacks, almost always carrying explosive bags and rushing to the basket. Without seeing teammates, I didn't even make much shots in three points.

Perhaps when I was entangled with Zhu Meng, I was given a lot of strong medicine.

Of course, he still has the ability to make adjustments and finish the ending on his own, but doing so alone will inevitably cause the team's overall offense to be split - he played 5 games with the Lakers in the first round, and he averaged 7.8 assists per game in the 4 games of victory, while the game of defeat was 0 assists.

Especially Gobert, when no one feeds cakes on the offensive end, he basically has no sense of existence.

So the Warriors only let Looney play for 14 minutes today - playing 7 against the Rockets, and he averaged only 9 minutes per game.

After all, it's really good when he only needs to focus on rebounding.
