September 2: In the recent TravisD’Marco podcast, Lakers’ celebrity Derek Fisher talked about his feelings about playing for the Purple and Gold Army.
"The current game and business environment is very different from ours back then. I am lucky to have played for a team for 13 years, and this may not happen again. The pride and honor of wearing the Lakers jerseys have different levels of growth over the years. Over time, the team has been constantly adjusting its lineup to accommodate new stars such as LeBron and Luca. The team is now in a large flow of personnel, making it difficult for players to have time to truly feel the meaning of wearing the Lakers jerseys." Fisher said.
"Whenever I wear the Lakers jersey, I think of my childhood dream, which is to be a Lakers player. Actually, I never thought I would be one of those legends. I just love basketball and go all out to realize my potential, which gave me the opportunity to play for the Lakers, but I never expected or took myself for granted." Fisher added.
Fisher has won five championships with the Lakers. He has played a total of 915 games for the Lakers, averaging 7.9 points, 2.9 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game.
