100 million euros! Manchester United’s signing targets Baleba. He will replace Casemiro

Baleba is going through the most important stage of his career so far. At just 21 years old, the Cameroonian defensive midfielder from Brighton has become one of the brightest rising stars in the Premier League and has also entered Manchester United's long-term radar to strengthen the midfield. According to "Sky Sports", the Red Devils regard Baleba as their number one target for signings in the summer window of 2026.

Manchester United plans to invest heavily next year to continue to rebuild the lineup, and the technical department believes that the Brighton midfielder has the three rare qualities of "youth, physical crushing confrontation and ball-handling advancement", which is enough to become the team's new midfield pillar. For now, the only obstacle standing between United and Baleba is price. Brighton have made it clear that they will not accept offers below €100 million. While the numbers are staggering, United management believe Baleba's potential will make the investment worthwhile in the future.

Since joining Lille in Ligue 1, Baleba has continued to evolve: his excellent running ability, tactical understanding and superb dribbling characteristics have made him a key cog in coach De Zerbi's system. Brighton believes that if the current growth curve is maintained, its market value will far exceed 100 million euros in the future. Therefore, Brighton has a tough attitude: they will never let players go easily before they reach their peak.

Baleba is not only an intercepting midfielder, but also has finishing ability. Last season, Baleba defeated West Ham United in the 92nd minute of stoppage time, helping the team win 3-2. The battle made headlines in major British media, showing his big heart and ability to decide the game at critical moments. Of course, young players will inevitably have ups and downs, and Brighton admits that he still needs to improve his game reading and positioning details, but it is generally believed that he is destined to become Europe's top midfielder.

Manchester United internally regards Baleba as Casemiro's natural successor - the Brazilian's contract happens to expire in 2026. The club hopes to find a more modern and dynamic No. 6 who can last ten years. Manchester United is not in a hurry and plans to continue to observe its growth and then take action at the right time; but it must also be wary of Bayern, Paris and other giants intercepting it in advance.

In the short term, Baleba will still wear the Brighton jersey. He has won the respect of his teammates and opponents. But as long as the upward trend continues, sooner or later his name will be raised loudly in the offices at Old Trafford. If all goes well, Manchester United may really be able to usher in a midfield ace that marks a new era in 2026.
