Recently, Laporta said in an interview with World Sports that Barcelona often relies more on their own youth training camps than on signings, which is the difference between them and Real Madrid.
"Madrid has a sense of power, we have a sense of freedom, an identity. They prefer to bring in players, and we have more players from La Macia."
A few hours later, the Real Madrid head coach, who was preparing for the last game of the Club World Cup group stage in Philadelphia across the Atlantic, faced the media and refuted Laporta's statement.
"I imagined the background at that time, and I don't want to explore it in depth now, but we (referring to Real Madrid) have a sense of democracy and freedom, and I think they have something to do with power."
Alonso also emphasized that the team will wait until Mbappe improves before sending him on the court. And explained Real Madrid's influence on the global stage and his own player time at a press conference.
"This is the most prestigious team in the world, and you can see his influence wherever you do it. Its history speaks for itself, and that's what Real Madrid is great. These factors help the club achieve more and push the club forward. It's a glory and honor to be a member of this club. I will work hard to achieve our goals and bring more legends."
