Arteta reveals another reason why Arsenal was eliminated in the Champions League

Mikel Arteta revealed another reason for Arsenal's outing in the Champions League after Arsenal lost 1-3 to Paris Saint-Germain in total.

After Arsenal withdrawal from the Champions League, Arteta has been closely watched and will face pressure to win at least one trophy next season.

Gunners declined in the Premier League and missed the championship for the third consecutive season.

They also lost in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup and lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals.

Paris Saint-Germain was a well-deserved winner, with goals from Fabian Ruiz and Ashraf Hakimi extending their lead, while Bukayo Saka comforted the opponent by scoring a goal for Arsenal in the second leg.

Nevertheless, Arteta then claimed that Arsenal had performed better in the semifinals, while Paris Saint-Germain's "MVP" Gianluigi Donaruma played a major role.

When asked whether Arsenal’s failure to seize the opportunity against Paris Saint-Germain highlighted what they needed to do this summer, Arteta forced another excuse, claiming that Hakimi should have been sent off in the first leg and “should not” play in the second leg.

"Yes, but I mean, this is very unstable and whatever players you have, it will happen," Arteta said.

"No one can predict Inter Milan's semi-final against Barcelona. If any of you can predict who will score and how he will score, it is impossible.

"The goal was the right back, he had the best chance in the game at the time, but he missed it. The left-footed central defender scored with his right foot. "

" Then, against us, Ashraf Hakimi shouldn't have played in the last ten minutes of the first leg, so he couldn't play in the second game and scored with only 0.07 goals expected. There are many random factors in football games. ”

Arteta also reiterated his previous view that Arsenal outperformed Paris Saint-Germain in the two leg matches in the semi-finals.

He added: “100%! I'm looking back at the game and I'm looking at all the data. Obviously, our numbers are the best, and the goal difference is the best in the semifinals. ”

" so it is very clear. But the key is not the probability of winning or what you deserve, but it is to really make things happen and make things meaningful. ”

"When you look at the important data that usually provides the best platform for you to win football games, you will know clearly who is better. ”
