May 3, 2016 In the final round of the Championship, Plymouth lost to Leeds United 1-2, and ranked second in relegation to the English League One with 11 wins, 13 draws and 22 losses this season.
At the end of May last year, the English Championship Plymouth officially announced that it would hire 38-year-old Rooney as the first team coach. But Rooney was fired at the end of December last year for his poor record. When he was fired, the team ranked last in the league with 18 points.
Rooney took over Plymouth and scored only 21 points in 25 games, winning 5 wins 6 draws and losing. This also indirectly led to Plymouth's relegation this season.
