August 21, sources have confirmed to ESPN. Frankfurt's U.S. international midfielder Parksten Aaronson is about to transfer to the Colorado Rapids.
Aaronson currently plays for the Frankfurt club in the Bundesliga, but sources say he is eager to return to the major leagues. ESPN learned that the deal could reach up to 7 million euros, which would break the club's transfer fee record for Brazil's striker Rafael Navarro to pay 4.5 million euros.
21-year-old Aaronson will occupy a designated player quota for the Rapids. Although Southampton, Coventry and Red Bulls in the Championship in the Austrian championship are interested in him, and a Bundesliga team has proposed a loan plan, Aaronson hopes to get a stable chance to play and stay with his family nearby.
This player, who played four times for the US men's football team, transferred from Philadelphia to Frankfurt in 2023, and was loaned to Witts and Udrecht. Although he could have chosen to stay in Frankfurt, he eventually chose to return to the US League to join Colorado to continue his career.
