June 27, "Roman Sports" reported that Argentine judge Makintach, who was previously in charge of the Maradona case, participated in the shooting of a documentary during the trial. The documentary was filmed secretly during the trial, and the judge was one of the main characters in the documentary. The documentary producer testified today that Makintach "has completely known about the project and agreed to its shooting." The production company further revealed that the initial cost of the project is estimated to be $800,000, and one of the screenwriters is Makintach's childhood friend. The documentary trailer, titled "The Justice of God", was discovered after Maradona's family lawyers expressed suspicion of the existence of unauthorized cameras during the trial.
Markintah has resigned from his position as judge and the trial, which was scheduled to begin in March and canceled in May, will soon begin. The new trial team consists of three judges selected last week's draw: Alberto Geiger, Alejandro Lago and Alberto Ortolani.
Maradona died of acute pulmonary edema and heart failure on November 25, 2020. Eight medical staff in the case were indicted, including Leopoldo Luke, a neurosurgeon who had removed an intracranial hematoma for him.
