China s first FIFA certified professional football stadium—Tianjin TEDA Football Stadium

Tianjin TEDA Football Stadium is located at the Third Street, TEDA Street, East District, Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Binhai New District, Tianjin.
Tianjin Teda Football Stadium covers an area of 75,000 square meters, a total construction area of 61,000 square meters, and a total investment of 530 million yuan. The football field can accommodate 37,000 spectators at the same time. It took nearly two years for Tianjin Teda Football Stadium to be laid in June 2002 to be completed and put into use in April 2004. Tianjin TEDA Football Stadium is the first stadium in China designed and built in accordance with international standards. It can undertake all international A-level football competitions such as the World Cup and the Olympics. It is the only professional football stadium in China that is wholly owned by the club. According to the technical requirements of the FIFA football competition venue, the football stadium is separated from the stadium by a trench 1.8 meters wide and a baffle 1 meter above the ground; the football stadium is 105 meters long and 68 meters wide. The stadium has an 80-meter-wide step entrance, and athletes and referees have dedicated safety access and lanes. There are 11 decorative pillars on each side of the stadium, representing the 11 players against both sides in football. On the evening of August 12, 2015, a major explosion occurred in Tanggu Development Zone, Tianjin, and TEDA Football Stadium suffered serious damage. After years of maintenance, upgrades and renovations, Tianjin Jinmen Tiger returned to Tianjin TEDA Football Stadium.
