The Athletic's Pierce writes: Fenway uses data-driven acquisitions of other clubs!
FSG (Fenway Sports Group) uses a data-driven approach to screen acquisition targets for specific clubs. His recommendations will then be presented to FSG's board of directors, who will decide whether to approve the acquisition based on financial feasibility.
After careful inspection last year, the group finally decided to give up the acquisition of the French Bordeaux Club. Since then, Spanish clubs such as Malaga and Getafe have entered the scope of serious investigation. Athletic revealed in July that FSG had entered into talks with Getafe chairman Angel Torres over a progressive takeover. But Torres said he planned to maintain a controlling stake in the club until 2028, when the stadium renovation commitments are completed.
