He is still an apprentice in electrician at the age of 20, and was elected as a Dutch footballer at the age of 25. It is a pure accident that a tough guy becomes a latecomer

At the request of my friends, let’s talk about Stam, this late Dutch tough guy.

On July 17, 1972, Stam was born in Kampen, Upper Eisel Province, Netherlands. As for this player, he showed his super football talent when he was a child, and he was simply a natural guard embryo. He is taller than his peers, stronger than his peers, and has a faster reaction than his peers. Even if a child who is several years older than him meets him, he will still be knocked over by him.

Regularly speaking, Stam's talent is far beyond his peers, so his next development should be very smooth. However, a sudden accident directly changed Stam's future direction. When he was 13 years old, he encountered a car accident. Not only did he lie on the sickbed for a long time, but the subsequent recovery period lasted for several years. This directly led to Stam not having received professional football training before he was 18 years old.

For most people, if they have not received formal training at the age of 18, their chances of becoming a professional player are quite slim. Stam also understood this truth, so at this time, he had considered becoming a professional player at all, and he just wanted to become an electrician. As for football, it can only be regarded as his hobby, and he kicks a few times in his spare time.

If this trend continues to develop, Stam will not even become a professional player, let alone become a star player. However, another accident changed Stam's fate again.

That was when Stam was 19 years old, and he played wild football with his friends. No one would have thought that such an irrelevant game actually attracted former Dutch international Teo Dejong. He is worthy of being a former professional player who has experienced many battles and can see Stam's talent at a glance. After the game, Teo De Jong found Stam and suggested that he become a professional player.

However, it is not easy to convince a child to change his mind. In addition, it takes time to convince the club to sign up. Stam was still an electrician apprentice until he was 20 years old.

In 1992, the 20-year-old Stam was first operated by Theo Dejun to the second team of Welim, and soon transferred to Zwolle, who was in the Durred Second League at the time. By the time of the 1993-94 season, Stam had already appeared on the stage of the Eredivisie League wearing the jersey of the Leeuwarden Cambourg.

After this, Stam's light could no longer be concealed. He quickly grew into a first-class central defender in the Dutch league, attracting the attention of many strong teams. First William II recruited him under his command, and then Eindhoven was eager to seek talent. During the winter window of the 1995-96 season, Stam became a member of Eindhoven.

Although it was quite hasty and basically had no time to get in, Stam still quickly became the core of the new boss's defense with his strong personal ability. In the following 1996-97 season, Stam, who was the core of defense, led Eindhoven to dominate the Dutch League. At the age of 25, he was elected as the Dutch footballer and became a top star in the Netherlands.

In the 1998 World Cup in France, Stam has become a key player on the Netherlands' defense. The Orange Army has met many powerful forwards along the way, such as Miatovic, Batistuta, and Ronaldo. When Stam faces these opponents, he is fearless. After the World Cup, Stam did not report back to Eindhoven, but went to Old Trafford at the first value of the world football defender at the time and played under Ferguson.

In the early days when Stam joined Manchester United, the British media generally did not look at this deal. In their opinion, Stam's value is too high, exceeding the players' true level. Some media even think that Stam is a "big pocket" and can't stand the powerful strikers in the Premier League at all.

However, Stam had only taken a few games to completely change his views among the media. After joining Manchester United, this Dutch tough guy quickly became the core of the Red Devils' defense. No matter which type of striker, he can't get any advantage. It is precisely because of his super strong performance that Manchester United won the triple-champion in his first season, that is, the 1998-99 season. In the days after

, Stam continued to perform his stable performance. Whether in Manchester United club or in the Dutch national team, he is the decisive needle on the defense line. In the 2000 European Cup, the Dutch team definitely had a chance to compete for the championship. Unfortunately, they were not very lucky. When they met Toldo, who was like a god who came to earth, they could only return with regret. The bad luck of the European Cup seemed to affect Stam's personal luck. In the next 2000-01 season, this tough guy encountered injuries and rested for more than three months. During this period, he wrote an autobiography on a whim and revealed a lot of powerful information. British media are not afraid of big trouble when they watch the excitement, and immediately helps Stam promote a wave of publicity...

Stam's autobiography involves some secrets from Manchester United's locker room. Ferguson was furious and soon made the decision to purge Stam and sold the Dutch tough guy to Lazio.

However, there is also such a statement about the reason why Ferguson cleansed Stam. I personally think it is closer to the truth: with Stam's age at that time and his ankle injury, Ferguson was quite worried. In Ferguson's view, Stam has passed his peak. At this moment, Lazio offered a high price...

Logically speaking, Ferguson's ideas are absolutely understandable. But the problem is that seemingly reasonable logic does not necessarily represent the truth. After Stam joined Lazio, he was still the top central defender, which still caused headaches for all forwards. Ferguson regretted this.

Lazio's poor economic situation is destined to keep Stam. The Dutch tough guy transferred to Milan and continued his strong performance. The defense line formed by him, Nesta, Maldini and Kafu is really solid. He played in Milan until 2006, and then returned to the Dutch League. After playing for two years, I announced that I had hung my boots.
