Post Exclusive: Liverpool did consider Semayo this summer, but it is unknown whether they will still consider him

Hupu, October 9th, Liverpool and team reporter Lewis Steele wrote this week's weekly report for the Post.

Are the rumors about Semeyo and Liverpool true or false?

Liverpool did have high hopes for Semayo at the beginning of the summer.

There were reports at the time that he was someone they might pursue, but the rumors died down and we haven't heard much since then. There were more rumors after the first game of the season - when Liverpool still needed a striker.

Daily Mail readers may remember that I wrote in May that there were rumors within Liverpool's senior management that they wanted a "versatile forward" who could serve as a front three. Hugo Ekitic might fit that bill, but Semeyo might also be one to keep an eye on in the future.

Sporting director Richard Hughes signed him from Bournemouth, of course, because he saw his outstanding performance at Bristol City. But he has performed well this season and has become an essential player in your FPL!

As painful as it is for Liverpool fans to accept this reality, Mohamed Salah's departure will come sooner or later. Can Semayo be Liverpool's long-term replacement? He is definitely a player that Liverpool have admired in the past. But there are other candidates...
